Dubai is set to revolutionize airport travel with new plans for Al Maktoum International Airport (Dubai World Central), aiming to eliminate the hassle of baggage claim. When the airport’s new terminal opens, an automated system will deliver luggage directly to passengers without the need to wait at the conveyor belt. For added convenience, travelers can arrange to have their bags sent directly to their hotel or home, streamlining the journey even further.

These changes are part of a major upgrade of the airport which once completed will be five times the size of Dubai's current busiest airport, DXB. The first phase is expected to take 10 years with advanced technology, biometrics and AI creating a seamless, paperless experience for up to 260 million passengers annually. Robotics may also play a key role, automating everything from baggage movement to aircraft turnaround, ensuring a faster and more efficient airport experience.
