At the 7th Abu Dhabi Sustainable Finance Forum, Safaa El-Kogali, World Bank Country Director for Gulf Cooperation Countries appreciated the UAE for its proactive role in tackling global climate issues. She emphasized the need for coordinated financing to address climate challenges and achieve the 2030 Agenda for Global Sustainable Development.

El-Kogali praised the UAE's collaboration with the World Bank particularly in co-founding the Global Climate Finance Centre at COP28. A new Memorandum of Understanding between the two will further strengthen this partnership.
The World Bank remains committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and works closely with partners like the UAE, private sector and other multilateral institutions to enhance lives in developing countries. El-Kogali highlighted key areas of focus including poverty reduction, healthcare, education, clean energy, job creation and climate action as the World Bank strives for a sustainable future through financial and technical support.
