The UAE’s tourism sector is set to contribute AED 236 billion ($64.2 billion) to the economy in 2024, accounting for 12% of the country’s GDP. Hotel revenues have increased to AED 33.5 billion ($9.1 billion) in the first nine months of the year, marking a 4% rise from 2023. This growth supports the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031’s objectives.

The UAE ranked 18th globally in the World Economic Forum’s 2024 Travel & Tourism Development Index, excelling in infrastructure, air transport and tourism policy. Hotel occupancy rates reached 77.8% and UAE airports welcomed over 103 million passengers by September with projections for 150 million by year-end.
The country also introduced the National Tourism Charter to support sustainable growth and Emiratisation in the sector. The “World’s Coolest Winter Campaign” focusing on green tourism, promotes sustainable agriculture and farm tourism, further enhancing the UAE's global tourism competitiveness.
