UAE Ranks 5th in Global Quality Infrastructure Index for Sustainable Development

UAE Becomes Regional Leader in Quality Infrastructure, Boosting Industrial Growth

The UAE has climbed six positions to 5th place in the 2024 Quality Infrastructure for Sustainable Development (QI4SD) Index, launched by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The country was categorized in the "L" group which includes nations like Switzerland, Singapore and South Africa. The UAE also ranked as the second highest in the Middle East behind Saudi Arabia.

This achievement reflects the UAE's commitment to sustainable development and economic diversification as well as the country's alignment with global standards in infrastructure.

Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, emphasized that the ranking highlights the UAE’s strong quality infrastructure which supports industrial growth and competitiveness.

The UAE’s National Strategy for Industry and Advanced Technology and initiatives like "Make it in the Emirates Forum" are driving this progress. The country is enhancing its self-sufficiency and sustainability creating an attractive environment for investors. Additionally, the UAE has strengthened its role in global standardization bodies, further boosting confidence in its infrastructure and industrial sector.
