The UAE has launched the second edition of the prestigious Great Arab Minds initiative, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Dubbed the ‘Arab Nobel Prize,’ this initiative aims to honor exceptional Arabs who have made remarkable contributions to humanity in various fields.
With a total prize pool of AED 6 million, six winners will be awarded AED 1 million each across six categories: medicine, engineering and technology, economics, natural sciences, architecture and design, and literature and arts. The initiative is designed to reignite the Arab world’s spirit of scientific and intellectual leadership, celebrating pioneers who inspire future generations.
Nominations Open Until October 31

Nominations are open to both individuals and institutions until October 31, 2024. Candidates can submit their applications through the official portal: greatarabminds.ae.
Mohammad Al Gergawi, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs, emphasized that the initiative is a long-term project aimed at elevating the Arab world’s role in global knowledge and innovation while creating role models for younger generations. The initiative also hopes to attract talented Arabs back to the region, contributing to its growth in science and culture.
