Dubai Launches First Vertiport Near DXB, Air Taxis Arrive in 2026

Dubai International Vertiport (DXV) Set to Boost Dubai's Mobility Innovation

Dubai has officially unveiled its first vertiport, the Dubai International Vertiport (DXV), located near Dubai International Airport (DXB). Approved under the UAE’s new Vertiport Regulations, DXV marks the first of four air taxi hubs being developed by Skyports, the RTA, and Joby Aviation as part of an advanced air mobility network.

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) granted design approval, ensuring compliance with global safety standards. Commercial air taxi operations are set to launch in 2026, promising a revolutionary shift in urban travel. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi of the GCAA hailed the project as a milestone in aviation innovation aligned with the UAE's ambitious visions.

Skyports CEO Duncan Walker highlighted Dubai’s leadership in reimagining urban mobility, enabled by cutting-edge regulatory frameworks. The DXV Vertiport reinforces the UAE’s commitment to creating future-ready, safe, and scalable aviation infrastructure.
