Dubai International Becomes the World's Busiest Airport in December

DXB is Set to Handle 5.3 Million Seats This Month, a 5% Increase From Last Month

Dubai International Airport (DXB) has become the world’s busiest airport in December surpassing Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson. DXB is set to handle 5.3 million seats this month, a 5% increase from last month. Atlanta follows closely with 5.2 million seats while Tokyo International Airport ranks third with 4.7 million seats.

DXB also leads as the busiest international airport with London Heathrow in second place at 3.96 million seats. Shanghai Pudong International saw a significant rise increasing its capacity by 10% and securing sixth place, while Guangzhou Baiyun International entered the top 10 this month.

In the list of the busiest international airports, Singapore Changi is in third followed by Hong Kong, which saw a 10% increase in capacity after opening a third runway. Doha Airport has moved into the top 10 for the first time ranking 10th with 2.8 million seats while Frankfurt dropped out.
